Join us for a circular walk in beautiful Bures and see the Bures dragon! Etched in chalk in 2012 as part of the Queen’s Diamond jubilee celebrations, it is set in beautiful rolling hillsides. Meet at Bures train station at about 10.30 (10.01 from Marks Tey should arrive 10.13; 10.26 from Sudbury should arrive 10.33) The walk goes through the village with an option for a coffee break at a local pub. We then go to historic St Stephen’s chapel, which should be open. This is also proposed as Edmund’s coronation site. Beyond the chapel we reach the best view of the dragon. There is then a return via another pub where people can have lunch if they wish before finishing off back at the station.
