Walton-on-the-Naze
Walton-on-the-Naze is the end of the small branch from Thorpe-le-Soken and hasn't always been named as it is today - previously the station was 'Walton-on-Naze'.
Walton-on-the-Naze is a small seaside resort, with a long pier, attractions and walks. The Naze is a monument on top of the hill, with fantastic views across the sea.
Walton-on-the-Naze was featured in the news in the 1980s when a class 313 train experienced a technical failure and ran through the buffers into the gentlemans toilets. No one was injured.
