Dovercourt

Leaving Harwich International, the line travels along the river curving around the bay and arrives at the town of Dovercourt nestled between the rivers Stour & Orwell. Dovercourt is an historic town and is mentioned in the Doomesday Book of 1087 under the name of Duvrecurt. The town, which lies just to the south of Harwich, has Victorian charm, a line of majestic cliffs and sandy shores which hold the European Blue Flag for clean beaches. With many sporting and leisure activities available including the recently refurbished skating rink, a swimming pool and soon to be restored boating lake this is an ideal family destination.
