An Introduction to Essex & South Suffolk Community Rail Partnership

Who we are?
The Essex and South Suffolk Community Rail Partnership links together the County Councils of Essex and Suffolk with the four District Councils of Babergh, Braintree, Maldon and Tendring, along with the two Borough Councils of Chelmsford and Colchester, ONE Railway, Network Rail and the Essex Rural Transport Partnership. The partnership works hard to promote the railway and to improve the facilities and usage of your local branch lines

Where we are?
‘The Gainsborough Line’, Marks Tey to Sudbury
‘The Mayflower Line’, Manningtree to Harwich Town
‘The Crouch Valley Line’, Wickford to Southminster
The ‘Sunshine Coast Line’, Colchester to Clacton/Walton

What we do?
The Partnership has two offices one at Mistley on the Mayflower Line on the Essex/Suffolk Border, with the second at Southminster on the Crouch Valley line. The E&SSCRP promotes a wide range of events along the line including Music and Jazz trains during the summer months and Santa trains for the young in the winter. We also print a twice yearly newsletter listing future activities on all four lines within the partnership. The Partnership is also working to increase community involvement along the line and, together with user representatives and Parish and Town Councils, aims to ensure that the needs and ideas of local users will play an increasingly important part in its work.
