Tropical Wings Butterfly Farm
The Tropical Wings Butterfly Farm is relatively new addition to South Woodham Ferrers. It is located behind the Four Acres farm shop at the bottom of the Old Wickford Road, just before it joins the A132. A mini tropical butterfly paradise has been created inside a greenhouse complex. Visitors may wander through this indoor garden and watch enormous exotically coloured butterflies fly over the surface of the waterlilies in the pond or settle on the beautiful flowers. Children will delight in seeing the large fat hairy caterpillars munching their way through leaves. Plant enthusiasts will thoroughly enjoy seeing exotic plants and creepers flourishing in the tropical indoor climate. You and your children will also be able to hold a conversation with a variety of brightly coloured parrots, which are housed in a separate room when you visit. A few chickens, pigs and goats add a little more interest. There is a small seated area for light refreshments.

The farm shop itself specialises in organic food and local produce. It has an excellent freezer section where customers can purchase frozen fruit and vegetables by the scoopful.

Marsh Farm
A working farm and Country Park of about 350 acres adjoining the River Crouch.
Take a stroll through the walk-in animal paddocks and feed the farm animals. Visit the new sheep exhibition and see the new born piglets.
There are lovely riverside walks along the sea walls where you can look out across a landscape of saltmarsh, grazing marsh and burrow dykes.
