Battlesbridge Station

Battlesbridge is a small village through which the River Crouch flows. It is best known for its antique centres one of which is a former mill. The antique centre has over 80 dealers and was established in 1967.

The Old Granary which is just visible from the train houses five floors of antiques, collectables and reproductions. A coffee shop on the top floor commands spectacular views of the surrounding area and the weir that marks the start of the estuary and the tidal saltwater part of the River Crouch. A visit could perhaps include a meal at one of the two public houses the Barge and the Hawk.

There is a motorcycle museum which is open on Sundays. Classic car and motorcycle events are held at the showground throughout the year

Battlesbridge is a conservation area which was jointly designated by Chelmsford Borough Council (north side of the river) and Rochford District Council (south side of the river) in February 1992 and March 1992 respectively.
